Thornton leads Irish PGA by one heading into final day



Simon Thornton shot a one-under 69 to take a slim one-stroke lead into the ultimate spherical of the Brown & Brown Irish PGA Championship at Monkstown Golf Membership.

Regardless of struggling on the greens, the three-time champion leads on five-under-par from Tim Rice, Richard O’Donovan and Sean O’Donoghue whereas defending champion Niall Kearney is lurking only a shot additional again alongside former Walker Cup star Cormac Sharvin.

Mount Wolseley’s O‘Donoghue shot a better of the week 65 to provide himself an opportunity whereas Colm Moriarty is lurking simply 4 pictures adrift after a 69.
