Dabo Swinney and the Clemson teaching workers did an outstanding job recruiting their 2023 class, with a number of true freshmen having an incredible impression on their workforce.
On Tuesday, three of those Tigers have been acknowledged by the Soccer Writers Affiliation of America (FWAA) as they introduced their 2023 Freshman All-America Staff. Of the 32 members, the Tigers and Georgia led the best way with three choices.
Peter Woods was the Tigers’ high recruit within the class, and he performed prefer it. The defensive deal with was credited with 27 tackles (2.5 for loss) and a pressured fumble in 307 snaps over 12 video games (two begins). He was a drive inside for the Tigers.
T.J. Parker, then again, was the Tigers’ top-edge rusher this season as a real freshman. Parker was credited with 41 tackles (12.5 for loss), 5.5 sacks, two cross breakups, and a fumble restoration in 457 snaps over 13 video games (three begins). His 12.5 tackles for loss in 2023 broke Clemson’s true freshman file (12.0 by Myles Murphy in 2020) and tied for the nationwide lead amongst freshmen.
Within the secondary, security Khalil Barnes was an enormous contributor. Barens was the primary Clemson participant within the Dabo Swinney period to file a number of pressured fumbles and a number of interceptions in a freshman season. In 2023, he was credited with 41 tackles (5.0 for loss), six cross breakups, a team-high three interceptions, three pressured fumbles, and a fumble restoration (which he returned 42 yards for a landing) in 499 snaps over 13 video games (seven begins).
