Tottenham reject interest in reported record £4.5B sale

Tottenham’s house owners have “unequivocally rejected” an expression of curiosity to purchase the membership from American tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick, regardless of stories of a file bid for a Premier League membership.

The Solar newspaper reported Earick was able to launch an general £4.5 billion ($6 billion) bid to purchase the membership, exceeding the £4.25 billion bundle that an American consortium paid for London rivals Chelsea in 2022.

Spurs’ majority house owners ENIC, which is run by the Lewis household belief, earlier this month rejected two different expressions of curiosity, together with from former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley’s PCP Worldwide Finance.

“The board of the membership and ENIC reconfirm that Tottenham Hotspur shouldn’t be on the market and ENIC shouldn’t be seeking to promote its stake within the membership,” mentioned a press release from the Spurs’ board to the London Inventory Change.

Earlier this month, Daniel Levy stepped down from his position as Tottenham chairman after 24 years because the Lewis household ramped up their dedication for extra on-field success.

Spurs ended a 17-year wait to win a trophy final season after they lifted the Europa League.

However that also was not sufficient to cease supervisor Ange Postecoglou from being sacked after ending simply exterior the relegation zone within the Premier League.

The Solar claimed Earick’s bid included a £3.3 billion takeover bid plus an additional £1.2 billion put aside for bettering the Spurs squad.

Nevertheless, Thomas Frank, who succeeded Postecoglou as Spurs boss, mentioned the information was no distraction for his aspect forward of Saturday’s Premier League conflict towards bottom-of-the-table Wolves.

“The Lewis household has been very clear, superb in the way in which they’ve communicated and it is very clear the membership shouldn’t be on the market,” mentioned Frank.

“Personally, I really feel in a really secure surroundings going into work every single day.”
