Tributes Pour In After Former Top QB Recruit Dies At 49


Athletes Who Sadly Handed Away In 2024 (1:45)

The sporting world misplaced a legend this week as former highschool QB, coach, soccer analyst, lawyer and motivational speaker Tim Strachan handed away on the age of 49.

Strachan was thought of a high school QB prospect heading into his senior 12 months of highschool in 1993. However a tragic swimming accident left him paralyzed and ended his profession. He overcame his paralysis to take pleasure in an unbelievable profitable profession sporting a wide range of completely different hats, all whereas retaining his love of the sport that was taken from him.

Over the previous few days, the individuals and organizations who knew him greatest have been paying tribute to Strachan throughout the web:

“The Maryland soccer household is heartbroken to be taught of the passing of former radio analyst and alum, Tim Strachan. A 1999 graduate of Maryland, Tim served as a pupil assistant coach and later joined Johnny Holliday within the broadcast sales space. Tim was an unbelievable motivational speaker that impressed all of us all through his life. Our ideas and prayers are with all of Tim’s household and mates,” the Maryland soccer crew shared on X.

“I used to be fortunate. I used to be lucky. Lucky to be near Tim “T Hen” Strachan. Lucky to develop up round his greatness. Lucky to be taught from him — about management, resilience, loyalty, and life. Tim, thanks on your instance. We’ll carry your classes with us ceaselessly,” former Maryland QB Scott McBrien wrote.

“Tim Strachan was a real inspiration. An elite QB prospect who suffered a tragic damage at Bethany Seashore in 1993. He overcame that and have become a lawyer, Maryland soccer analyst for 20+ seasons, & motivational speaker. Relaxation in Peace to a DMV legend,” Sirius XM’s Tim Murray shared.

“We’re deeply saddened to be taught of the passing of Tim Strachan ’94, after battling most cancers for over a 12 months now. Tim was an important Stag. We may have rather more on Tim and his legacy within the subsequent few days. Relaxation in Peace brother,” his alma mater DeMatha Catholic Excessive Faculty wrote.
