Utah’s soccer program has formally named its subsequent head soccer coach.
Monday morning, the Utes introduced their coach-in-waiting, who will finally exchange head coach Kyle Whittingham, every time he retires or leaves.
ESPN school soccer insider Pete Thamel first reported the information on Monday.
“Utah is naming defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley because the successor to longtime coach Kyle Whittingham. Scalley will make no less than $5 million per 12 months as head coach when he’s elevated, per his newest contract. There’s no set timetable for Whittingham to go away,” he reported.
“This marks Scalley’s second stint as this system’s coach-in-waiting. The college rescinded the title in 2020 after an exterior investigation into the usage of a racial slur in a textual content message.”

Whittingham, 64, has been Utah’s head coach because the 2005 season. He is gone 162-79 since taking up this system.
