Video: Where do we fall on Jose Aldo's typical-for-MMA short-lived retirement?

Jose Aldo’s retirement will wind up being rather less than two years lengthy.

The UFC Corridor of Famer and former featherweight champion is ending his MMA retirement for a house battle in opposition to Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro on Could 4.

Martinez (19-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) will make a return to MMA for Aldo (31-8 MMA, 13-7 UFC), who has had three boxing matches since he left the UFC. Aldo introduced his retirement from MMA following a unanimous resolution loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278 in August 2022.

He’s 37, and he has one of many hardest checks within the bantamweight division in Martinez, who has straight wins, together with in opposition to Adrian Yanez and Cub Swanson.

Naturally, although, we’re questioning if this transfer is a clever one for Aldo – and even perhaps why fighters can’t appear to say they stop and keep stop. This week’s “Spinning Again Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Matthew Wells and Mike Bohn break down the matchup and Aldo’s resolution with host “Attractive” George Garcia.

Watch their dialogue within the video above, and don’t miss this week’s full episode of “Spinning Again Clique” under on YouTube or in podcast type.

“Spinning Again Clique” is launched every Monday LIVE on MMA Junkie’s YouTube channel at midday ET. You can too discover every episode in your favourite podcast platforms – together with Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and extra – on Tuesday mornings.

You should definitely go to the MMA Junkie Instagram web page and YouTube channel to debate this and extra content material with followers of blended martial arts.
