Watch: Four Skiers Trigger Avalanche In New Zealand Backcountry


New Zealand — With inconsistent snowfall all through this winter in New Zealand, Kiwi backcountry skiers have been eyeing powder snowboarding for months.

Current snowfall has introduced extra individuals into the backcountry, however that inconsistent snowfall has resulted in an unstable snowpack. This has resulted in varied backcountry avalanches, with probably the most viral one being simply exterior of Treble Cone.

In a video shared by NZ Avalanche Advisory, Jeremy Blake shared that 4 backcountry skiers triggered a slide. Three people had been caught within the slide, and one among them was caught as much as their waist. Fortunately, no one was injured within the slide.
