World No. 1 Swiatek Pulls Out of Beijing

Iga Swiatek has pressed pause on her return to match tennis. 

The defending Beijing champion has withdrawn from the China Open as a consequence of “private issues.”

The China Open is ready for September 25-October 6.

American Jessica Pegula knocked Swiatek out of the US Open quarterfinals 6-2, 6-4 earlier this month.

That defeat got here weeks after world No. 3 Aryna Sabalenka swept Swiatek 6-3, 6-3 within the Cincinnati semifinals.

Final October, Swiatek rolled by way of 12 of 13 units capturing the China Open championship. Swiatek scored straight-sets wins over Coco Gauff within the semifinals and Liudmila Samsonova within the closing to win Beijing.
