23-year-old Frenchman Terence Atmane is having the week of his life on the Cincinnati Open. The 136-ranked southpaw performed brilliantly on Wednesday as he took out fourth-ranked Taylor Fritz for his first Prime-5 win, 3-6 7-5 6-3.
It was Atmane’s first Prime-20 win as nicely.
He has defeated Yoshihito Nishioka, Flavio Cobolli, Joao Fonseca and now Fritz, to succeed in his first Masters 1000 quarter-final.
Atmane will face Holger Rune, the No.7 seed within the final eight in Cincinnati.
