Arizona Swimming Starts Strong Against Texas A&M on Day 1


The Arizona males’s and girls’s swim groups totaled 11 first-place finishes to begin sturdy in Day 1 of two-day twin meet towards Texas A&M.

Arizona’s ladies’s 400 medley relay of Kayman Neal, Eleni Gewalt, Maryam Sheikhalizadehkhanghah, Julia Wozniak gained in 3:33.11.

Gewalt gained the 100 breaststroke in 59.41. Wozniak gained the 100 free (48.72).

Ava Sutphin gained the 1650 free (16:45.27)

The Wildcats’ 200 free relay of Meric Demirtepe, Riley Botton, Sheikhalizadehkhanghah and Wozniak gained in 1:29.44.

Main the best way for the Aggies was junior Ava Whitaker who logged a NCAA qualifying lower within the 200 fly ending with a time of 1:57.05. Senior Kaitlyn Owens and junior Hannah O’Leary additionally completed with first place victories. Owens touched first within the 100 again in 53.09 and O’Leary gained the 200 IM in 2:00.39.

Within the males’s meet, Arizona’s 400 medley relay of Duncan Henderson, Tavner Knowledge, Haakon Naughton, Ralph Daleiden gained in 3:05.49.

Knowledge gained the 100 breaststroke in 53.28. Naughton gained the 200 fly (1:42.67). Daleiden gained the 100 free in 42.57.

Arizona’s Aaron Gordon gained the 100 backstroke (47.55).

The Wildcats’ 200 free relay of Jake Hutchinson, Henderson, Taylor Luck and Daleiden gained in 1:17.66.

Pacing Texas A&M with victories have been freshman Bucky Gettys and senior Munzy Kabbara. Gettys posted a win within the 1,650 free in 15:19.18 and Kabbara gained the 200 IM in 1:45.29. Ending second and third within the 200 IM have been junior Daniil Pancerevas in 1:46.00 and junior Logan Brown in 1:48.40.
