Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime rises to No. 13 after US Open semifinal run


Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime climbed to No. 13 on the planet rankings Monday after his run to males’s singles semifinals on the US Open.

Auger-Aliassime, who reached a career-high No. 6 in 2022, jumped 14 spots and stays the highest-ranked Canadian man.

The 25-year-old from Montreal superior to a Grand Slam semifinal for the primary time for the reason that 2021 US Open.

He upset third seed Alexander Zverev, fifteenth seed Andrey Rublev and eighth seed Alex de Minaur earlier than falling to then-world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in 4 units.

Event winner Carlos Alcaraz claimed the No. 1 rating by defeating Sinner within the ultimate.

Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont., rose three spots to No. 26 after reaching the third spherical in New York, whereas Montreal’s Gabriel Diallo dropped two locations to No. 35 following a second-round exit.
