Sean Strickland has launched a press release to followers hours after dropping his UFC 312 title battle in opposition to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312.

Midway by way of the fourth spherical “Stillknocks” hit “Tarzan” with a giant punch that shattered his nostril, and it’s a miracle that Strickland managed to hold on till the top of the 25 minute battle (highlights right here).

In a brand new video posted to his socials, Strickland mentioned he was maintaining his head held excessive and urged his followers having bother to attract inspiration from his defeat.

“Hey, what up guys? We’ve been right here a few times,” Strickland mentioned. “I’m so grateful in your guys’ assist, man. You you guys are so superior. Win or lose, you guys at all times experience, and I admire you. Dricus: f—ing hats off, man. Hell of a battle. Broke my nostril in like six locations. Silver lining is [when] your nostril is so damaged, it’s very easy to reset. In order that was a brand new expertise.”

“However I’ll be fast. I get so many message from followers, associates, household. Like, maintain your head up. It’s okay. I’m good, dude. Like, dropping sucks, however all of us lose in life. And I discuss to so many individuals, whether or not they lose their job, their girlfriend breaks up with them, they usually simply discover themselves on this gap. However me, I like the distress. I like the struggling. As a result of once you’re depressing, once you’re in ache, once you’re struggling? The second that’s gone — and it’ll finish, it can finish and there might be a brand new day, a greater day — life’s good!”

“So I’m grateful,” Strickland concluded. “And being grateful kinda retains me retains my head up. And for you guys going by way of it, have a look at me. Broke my nostril in entrance of tens of millions of individuals. F—ing sucks. Misplaced the battle. And I nonetheless gotta get up tomorrow, maintain my head up, and be like, ‘Hey, man. It’s a brand new day.’ Gotta sack up and be a person. So for you guys going by way of it, have a look at me. And I hope that your f—ing day will get higher.”

This second defeat to Du Plessis pushes Strickland out of the contender’s circle at middleweight, and it’s an actual query as as to whether he’ll have the ability to power his manner again in.
