India beat Malaysia 3-0 within the final Group-C league match within the Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup under-16 boys’ tennis event in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday.
It was India’s first win within the four-team league section. Korea and Uzbekistan certified for the quarterfinals from the group.
Chinese language Taipei, Kazakhstan, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and China have been the opposite groups to qualify for the quarterfinals. India will play Indonesia within the positional play-off match for the ninth to sixteenth spots.
