Piastri secures pole position for Qatar Grand Prix, Ferrari endures woeful qualifying

Scorching on the heels of his dominant show on the Qatar F1 Dash, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri topped the timing sheets in the primary qualifying session to safe pole place for Sunday’s Qatar Grand Prix.

Championship chief Lando Norris led the best way after the primary spherical of fast laps in Q3, however he made a mistake on his ultimate lap and needed to abort it.

The Australian outpaced McLaren teammate Lando Norris by 0.108s after his most important title rival blew his ultimate lap of Q3 with a mistake within the first sector.

Piastri delivered underneath strain to seize his sixth pole of the season, and second in as many days, to maintain alive his hopes of successful a maiden world championship.

Norris stays the sturdy favorite, going into Sunday’s grand prix with a 22-point lead, understanding that he can be topped world champion for the primary time if he outscores Piastri by 4 factors.

Williams’ Carlos Sainz completed seventh forward of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, whereas Charles Leclerc suffered an enormous spin as he ended up tenth and slowest in Q3 in one other woeful qualifying exhibiting for Ferrari.
